The 2011 Village Representative Election starts today (January 2). The Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Raymond Young (second left), visits the polling station at Tai Hang Public School, Tai Hang Village, Tai Po. He was accompanied by Returning Officer Mr Ivan Lee (left). The Village Representative Election is being held on four consecutive Sundays from today, with more than 1,700 candidates participating in the polls. While 944 candidates have been returned uncontested, 808 candidates will compete for 414 seats.
