Harmony Scholarships Scheme
The Harmony Scholarships Scheme was first launched in the academic year 2003/04 to recognise students’ participation in school and community services (particularly activities promoting racial harmony), their academic results and conduct.
The Home Affairs Department is inviting Government Schools, Aided Schools and Caput Schools, and Schools under Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS Schools) enrolled with 30 or more non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students to join the Harmony Scholarships Scheme 2024/25.
Scholarships valued at $1,000 and $2,000 each will be awarded respectively to primary and secondary school students nominated by their schools. Please refer to scheme details for information.
Schools interested in joining the Scheme are requested to complete and submit the nomination form (PDF Format) (Word Format) to us by 13 December 2024.

A total of 416 scholarships were awarded to students from 102 schools, comprising 194 students from 55 primary schools and 222 students from 47 secondary schools. [Awardee list]
A total of 399 scholarships were awarded to students from 98 schools, comprising 171 students from 51 primary schools and 228 students from 47 secondary schools.
Adventure-based Training Day Camp
Around 80 awardees of the Harmony Scholarships Scheme 2022/23 participated in the Adventure-based Training Day Camp on 22 October 2023. Awardees from different schools cooperated to complete different challenges and share their experiences in promoting racial harmony in their schools.
A total of 393 scholarships were awarded to students from 89 schools, comprising 177 students from 49 primary schools and 216 students from 40 secondary schools.
Outstanding Award
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR, ten Outstanding Awards are offered to selected nominees in recognition of their outstanding contribution in promotion of racial harmony.
A total of 376 scholarships were awarded to students from 85 schools, comprising 165 students from 43 primary schools and 211 students from 42 secondary schools.
Adventure-based Training Day Camp
Around 30 awardees of the Harmony Scholarships Scheme 2019/20 and 2020/21 participated in the Adventure-based Training Day Camp on 24 October 2021. Awardees from different schools cooperated to complete different challenges and share their experiences in promoting racial harmony in their schools.
A total of 383 scholarships were awarded to students from 82 schools, comprising 155 students from 41 primary schools and 228 students from 41 secondary schools.
A total of 373 scholarships were awarded to students from 81 schools, comprising 149 students from 40 primary schools and 224 students from 41 secondary schools.
Harmony Tree Planting Tour
Nearly 100 awardees of the Harmony Scholarships Scheme 2018/19 and their parents participated in the Harmony Tree Planting Tour on 14 April 2019. It was a great opportunity to connect the ethnic minorities with the community.
A total of 352 scholarships were awarded to students from 79 schools, comprising 152 students from 41 primary schools and 200 students from 38 secondary schools.
A total of 332 scholarships were awarded to students from 73 schools, comprising 154 students from 41 primary schools and 178 students from 32 secondary schools.
