Yuen Long District

Welcome Message from Gordon WU,JP , District Officer (Yuen Long)

Welcome to this web page of the Yuen Long District Office. Here you will find information on the organisation structure of this office and the major community events in Yuen Long.

Yuen Long is a pluralistic community encompassing urban and rural areas, modern-day and traditional features, as well as Chinese and ethnic minorities' cultures. Rural villages of rich heritage exist in harmony with the ever developing Yuen Long Town and Tin Shui Wai new town. Members of the heterogeneous community of Yuen Long include indigenous villagers, residents who moved in from other districts, new arrivals from the Mainland and ethnic minorities. We appreciate that residents with diverse backgrounds may have different needs and aspirations, and always welcome views from them on community affairs. We hope to draw on collective wisdom and useful ideas that would help government departments deliver public services and implement projects in a "citizen-centric" manner.

The Yuen Long District Office have always been standing by the residents of Yuen Long in facing the challenges and opportunities for our district. We will continue to reflect local concerns to other government departments and work closely with other departments in addressing district issues. In addition, mobilizing social capital, enhancing cross-sectoral collaboration and promoting the culture of neighbourhood mutual care have been our on-going commitments in recent years. We aspire for partnership between various sectors and the Government developing as the capital for community building in Yuen Long. Institutions or individuals that wish to make contributions to our community are welcome to explore with us ways of giving full play to the synergy effect of cross-sectoral collaboration to drive the sustainable development of Yuen Long.
